Hey guys! There's a really awesome community set up called [info]help_haiti. A lot of fandom authors are donating their services to help the relief efforts in Haiti. Basically, you offer your talents up and people bid. Whoever wins by the end will donate that much money to charity. I've offered up my services here:

Ok, so the writing on Eastwick ain't exactly Pulitzer Prize material, but by Goddes are the boys hot.

Incidentally, if anyone want's to know my type, just look at Johann Urb:

It's no secret that I ship Nick and Greg on CSI. Season 10's premiering on Thursday and the whole cast was on ET to promote it. Take a look at Eric Szmanda (Greg) and George Eads (Nick)'s body language throught the interview (Far right. Mary Hart's left, the non-Laurence Fisburne guys)). Not helping the rumors, Boys! And George mentioning Greg's Old Vegas ...

*sniff* My ship still sails!

Yeah, I know. Long time no update. But I realized something.

I've long since given up on MTV and, heck, most of that audience/ *shudder* my age bracket, so I didn't even bother to watch the VMA's. So I missed the ~DRAMA~ around Taylor Swift (Who is amazing, by the way) and Kanye (who likes Fish Sticks {10 points to whoever gets the joke}). I finally found the video:

http://tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=431036>1=28103

You know, let the dust fall where it may, I think this whole thing is a side effect of the prevailing thought we have today that anyone can be famous for doing jack shit. Granted Kanye actually is famous for something that's actually a skill (I think), but we idolize these people with no reprecussions for their actions. It's the same for a lot of these celebrities/ Whatever the people on VH1 dating shows are called. They think they can do whatever they want and no one has the balls to say "No! Stop, bad dog!" and smack them with a rolled up newspaper.

I just think, rather, I can't wait for the time when we start rewarding talent over ... DRAMA. I'm not sure that day will ever come, but...

I know, that by talking about it gives them what they want: attention. But really, the problem becomes that people are not realizing that negative attention is NOT THE SAME as positive attention.

I do think Beyonce's response was incredible. Classy beyond belief:

Incidentally, why hasn't anyone told Lady Gaga she dresses/looks like an blind, mentally challenged wildebeast?

Yeah, so I started a vlog. Mainly for my MyLeaky profile, but I figured I'd post the first one here.

Once MyLeaky actually lets me upload it, I may actually get points!

Here's my MyLeaky profile in case anyone wants it or wants to join: http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/myleaky/p/missingmarauder22

Hopefully my amazing voice is everything you people hoped it would be. :)

I has a job!

I'll be working in the Learning Lab at Everest University down here in FL. It used to be Florida Metropolitan University and is owned by Corinthian Colleges Inc, out of CA. It's an occupational school for people with/without their GEDs who want careers in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Media... etc. The Learning Lab is basically helping students out with papers/homework, proctoring tests and being a helpful ear. I will also be *fanfare* teaching! I'll be teaching a course called Strengthening Skills. It's a two part course. The first part is Math, which, thankfully, I don't have to teach. I'll be teaching the second half, the English portion. It's broken up into a 12-week "semesters". Math is 6 weeks, English is the other 6. I have a lot of prep reading to do, employee hire stuff and the textbook. From what I was told the Strengthening Skills class is like a pre-pre-requisite. It's there to get the students up to writing at the collegiate level. And when the students come in they log on and do the activities online and the instructor watches over them, offering help and answers. There's no grading, it's all done online.

But I r employed!

Oh and I found out I'm graduating from WSC Cum Laude!

Oh and my mom and I moved to a much cooler place!

Yeah, So I made Nick and Greg from CSI: Las Vegas and Danny and Flack from CSI: NY. They're behind the cuts, cause Danny got a little fresh with the camera.

SPOILER ALERT!

BARACK OBAMA IS OUR 44TH PRESIDENT!!!!

I'm trying to encapsulate my feelings, my emotions, my thoughts. It's not easy to do. The man I voted for won. The system works. As many times as it has been said, as cliche as it may sound by this point. We really have witnessed history. While he secretly may be a secret Muslim, terrorist socialist alien from planet Zarnag-Beta, he is also half -black. Our country has elected it's first (half)black president. In actuality, no matter the percentage of his african-americanness he is NOT the standard we have seen for the past several hundred years. This speaks to every little boy or girl out there who can now hear "You can be president when you grow up." That promise isn't as hollow anymore.

I know I may be waxing poetic now, but I saw history unfold in front of my eyes tonight and I feel like being emotional. Sue me. I'm twenty three years old as I write this and for the first time in my life, that I actually feel proud of my country. Never before have I known what it feels to be a proud American. It's weird. I have this warm, fuzzy feeling that makes me believe that, with enough hard work and belief we truly can achieve great things.

Change will come, it won't be immediate, change never is. But it will happen. The very fact that we have Barack Obama as president changes the way the rest of the world views us. We're no longer the backwards redneck hillbillies we have been for the past eight years.

I can't wait to see how President Obama will help better the world.

President Obama, that feels really good to write.

Thanks for reading, guys,

Jason

New International Trailer for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Pince. It looks really good. I have to admit the best part is the bit after the title screen. O:-)

Shamelessly yanked from Kimmychu!

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, (even if we don't speak often or ever) please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me.

It can be anything you want - good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph in your LJ and see what your friends come up with.

Ya'll better amaze me! I have some creative-ass friends, so these better be good!

My local news up here just managed to segueway from JFK's assasination to the weather....

Wow.

I have to applaud them for that.

For those curious of just how.

"It really makes you wonder 'what if?' you know? (What if JFK hadn't been murdered) Well, 'what if' it gets warmer tomorrow?"

Yeah, so I was ... turned on to the story of Olli and Christian from the German Soap Opera Verbotene Liebe. Well, Olli looks disturbingly like Flack from CSI NY so I had to whip out the MorphThing again. I know it means Olli's cheating on Christian and Flack on Danny, but humor me here

Hopefully the person responsible for my new addiction will see this. *hint hint*

*glare*

Anyhoo I give you Jo Flack! Jo Weil plays Olli and, once you realize J's are pronounced as Y's in German than, well, hilarity ensues.

Ignore the hair.

Incidentally I'm watching the Nightly News on mute and listening to my iPod on shuffle. The Gremlins 2 theme plays as my TV shows pictures of Wall Street kerploding.

I am SO glad I don't play the stock market or have credit cards.

On yet another note, is it wrong to have a bit of a crush on Brian Williams? MAN does he have gorgeous eyes...

Saw this plant on tonight's CSI NY. With all the CGI they do, I was thinking they faked the plant. Nope.

Conveniently played with the CSI:NY theme song.

I'm a camera whore.... facially
*re-reads subject line*

Ew.

Anyhoo, I yanked this from [info]soleil_luna If you know me at all you know I had to do it. I'm allowed some vanity.

Here's the meme

Take a picture of yourself right now.
Don't change your clothes, don't fix your hair...just take a picture.
Post that picture with NO editing.
Post these instructions with your picture.

Ok, so I just lightened them up and shrank them, but trust me, you don't need wall-sized pictures of my stubble.
